About Sydney
Sydney Sterlace, a 16-year-old singer songwriter from Buffalo, NY, has been entertaining audiences with her voice since a young age. The moment she stepped in front of a microphone, it was clear that music was not just a hobby—it was quickly becoming her passion.
Sydney’s singing arc took a jump when she started singing lessons at age 7. Growing up in a small town, with a voice that blended raw emotion and technical skill, she quickly began gaining recognition as a standout talent in her community. Sydney continued honing her skills, singing locally anywhere and everywhere she could.
Her big break came when she auditioned for The Voice Season 26, at age 15. She wowed all the coaches for a four chair turn during her blind audition. Gwen Stefani, Snoop Dogg, Reba McEntire, and Michael Buble, were all in awe of her soulful tone and range. As a member of Gwen’s team, week after week, she delivered breathtaking performances, earning the love and support of fans back home, and nationwide. Sydney made it all the way to the finals, securing a spot in the top 3.
Sydney will tell you her time on The Voice was a dream come true, giving her the opportunity to learn from superstars in the music industry. She soaked up every lesson like a sponge, and will always cherish her time learning from Gwen, guest coaches Sting and MGK, the other coaches, the voice teachers on the show, and the competition turned friends that she gained for life.
Sydney will also tell you the show was just the beginning for her. Inspired by her experience on the show, she continues to write and record original music, drawing from her personal journey and emotions. Sydney is working on ‘her’ sound and message. Sydney knows that she has a big responsibility going forward. As Reba stated, Sydney has little eyes that will be watching her, and a powerful voice that can really affect people.
As she balances high school life, her commitments to chorus and drama club musicals, and with studio sessions, time in her creative song-writing process, and playing gigs since the show ended, Sydney remains grounded. Sydney is careful to never forget the little girl, with an innate love to sing, who once sang as soon as she could talk. With a bright future ahead, she is a name to watch in the music industry—one song at a time.
